Church Services

The Church is here for every part of life, including baptism, confirmation, marriage and funerals.

There are also other times when people feel the need to come to God; Confession (the sacrament of reconciliation) is when people freely tell God what troubles them and hear his absolution. Some people wish to have their new homes blessed, and others wish to hold a service to remember someone special.

If you have any questions the clergy are happy to discuss any of these services.

Services

The Mass (Holy Communion or the Eucharist) is our main service celebrated on Sundays at 10.30am. See the News Sheet for other weekday services.

Baptism (or Christening) marks the beginning of a new journey in faith. Baptism takes place regularly during the year.

Prayer

Prayer is at the heart of worship and Daily Prayer happens each day throughout the Church.

Chantry

"Sometimes when someone has died something is needed after the funeral"

Thanks to a donor’s generosity, we have a Chantry Book (Book of Remembrance) in which loved ones are remembered on the anniversary of their death.

Anyone can apply to commemorate loved ones with a connection in the area.

Sunday Morning Services

The Parish services are 9:00 am at St. George and 10:30 am at St. Cuthbert. All ages are welcome to the traditional style morning worship, including Holy Communion.

Midweek Services

During the week all ages are welcome to a shorter service with Holy Communion on Wednesday mornings (9:30 am) at St. Cuthbert and Thursday mornings (9:30 am) at St. George.

Throughout the year ...

As well as the normal pattern of Sunday morning and Midweek services, there are additional services for baptism, marriages, confirmation, funerals and also special church services held in accordance with the Church Calendar. See the Parish News Sheet for up-to-date information.
