St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, Castle Vale

See News and Events

The Parish of St Cuthbert, Castle Vale with St George, Minworth is part of the Diocese of Birmingham in the Church of England.

The present Incumbent is The Revd Father James Cope  S.S.C.

In 2017 Father James led the parish pilgrimage to Walsingham and The Basilica of our Lady. These are a few of the views of the Basilica and the Abbey grounds:

Word of God: Unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies, it yields a rich harvest.                                             [John 3:14]

Word for Today: Dying is something we don’t need to wait until the end of our lives for. There are many ways in which we are called to put ourselves into second place day to day. And dying to self means being prepared to forego pleasure, to put someone else as a priority instead of ourselves, to practise self-denial. Our Lenten reading today reminds us of this daily death.
